Once you have selected an item to bid on, click on the “Bid now” button below the picture. You will be redirected to our secure bidding platform where you can submit your bid. The process involves the following simple steps:
The auction will end on November 30th, 9 pm EST, at which point the highest bidders for each item will receive a message informing them that they have won the item and further instructions.
After the auction ends you will receive a notice that you are the winner for the prize, along with an electronic invoice and options for shipping or picking up the item, if the item is tangible, or instructions on how to redeem if non-tangible.
Yes. When you receive the email notification that you are the winning bidder for an item, if you would like the invoice to be issued to a company or a different name, please contact us at auction@thehellenicinitiative.ca, and we will issue the invoice based on the details provided.
We request your credit card information for verification purposes. No charges will be made to your credit card until you have won your item. We request that the credit card linked to your account has sufficient funds for the bid. Your credit card details remain confidential.
We do not charge your credit card when you place a bid. Instead, we place a pre-authorization to ensure that your credit card has sufficient room to handle the bid amount. This step helps us verify that bidders are not using expired cards or exceeding their credit limits. This pre-authorization may appear in your bank or credit card application under "Pending Transactions." However, this does not mean that a charge has been made. It is simply a hold for verification purposes, and it will typically disappear within 3 to 7 days.
The winning bid is automatically charged to your linked credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), upon the end of the auction – November 30th, 9 pm EST.
No. Only the amount of the current highest bid is displayed, ensuring anonymity.
If you are outbid on an item, you will receive an e-mail and text message confirming you have been "outbid", meaning you need to click the button in the email and raise your bid in order to have a chance to win the selected item.
You must be a Canadian resident or have a Canadian address to be able to participate in the auction.
